Since 2009, Dr. Sweeny has been a leading interventional cardiologist at the world-renowned Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory of Mount Sinai and Associate Professor of Medicine, Cardiology, at Icahn School Medicine at Mount Sinai where he serves as the Medical Director of the Lauder Family Cardiovascular Ambulatory Center of Mount Sinai Heart at The Mount Sinai Hospital. Dr. Sweeny specializes in patient care, education and research in the field of interventional cardiology in particular in the areas of coronary imaging as well as antiplatelet therapy. He is an Assistant Editor for The Journal of the American College of Cardiology and serves as the Associate Program Director of the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship Program. Dr. Sweeny first joined Mount Sinai in 2005 as a fellow in cardiology where he served as Chief Cardiology Fellow, and later completed a fellowship in interventional cardiology at Mount Sinai. Prior to joining Mount Sinai, Dr. Sweeny completed his internal medicine residency at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he also served as the Chief Medical Resident. Dr. Sweeny graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Georgetown University School of Medicine where he was also elected AOA.
